PlayNitride Inc. was formally established in 2014 and holds the distinction of being the world’s first company to mass produce micro LEDs. In the third quarter of 2022, PlayNitride Inc was listed on the Taiwan Innovation Board. As part of a rights offering, the company’s share capital is set to increase from NT$1.008 billion presently to NT$1.072 billion, with 6,300 additional shares being made available.

Technology Breakthrough: “Micro LED mass transfer technology”
“Chip on Carrier” is a key technology developed by Playnitride Inc. It has always been a challenging task to correctly align all the chips in a micro LED display, considering the need for millions of LED chips. According to Playnitride, this technology can effectively position micro LED chips from the LED EPI wafer onto a carrier designed to meet the pixel pitch of the target display. This incredible innovation significantly reduces the time required to align LED chips, thereby enhancing mass production efficiency.
